About Andrew D. Hanson
Background
Andrew was born in northern Minnesota and was the oldest of 2 brothers. His youngest brother, David, was born severely disabled. David only obtained the cognitive ability a 9 month old his entire life. He never spoke one word. But positively and deeply impacted everyone who came in contact with him. He wore diapers his entire life and need care takers 24/7/365. David lived at home his entire life. And Andrew's parents showed tremendous love and sacrifice for David and that model impacted Andrew deeply.
Faith
Andrew lives to hear the words ' Well done, good and faithful servant.'
Some of his favorite verses are -
' A good name is to be more desired than great wealth; Favor is better than silver and gold.' Proverbs 22:1
' It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.' Proverbs 25:2
Family
Andrew has a wonderful wife and two sweet, spunky daughters who are from Minnesota and now life in South Florida. He enjoys anything outdoors, everything data and tech, teaching and consulting, and spending as much time as possible with family and friends.
Work
Private Sector
In Andrew's 20 year career as an AI/Data Science and Technology Leader, he has worked primarily as a trusted advisor to Executives of many Fortune 500 and other large enterprises across 10 countries. Throughout this time, he has led up to 50+ AI/Data Science & Technology member teams with $10MM+ budget for high-tech Fortune 500 and Financial Services firms; directing $200+ MM in technology and business investments, directly responsible for funding $4BN in financial products.
Non-Profit Sector
In 2010, he founded the first global anti-trafficking non-profit (MATTOO.org) that exclusively focuses on decreasing the demand of sex-trafficking. In this role, he has advised 10 Downing Street (the UK's "White House") on national policy, been interviewed on the BBC, CBS, Fox, and was a keynote speaker at TEDx OxBridge (joint Oxford & Cambridge University TEDx event).
Education
God has enabled Andrew to receive a unique blend of university degrees in business, data science, economics, and theology from Top 10 global or national programs.
For his MBA, he was led to apply to only two Universities: Cambridge and Oxford and was accepted into both. For his pioneering work with MATTOO, both Cambridge and Oxford offered him social entrepreneurship awards. He ultimately chose Cambridge University for its STEM and public-good focus. And he attended as a Sainsbury Scholar - for his impact and potential for social entrepreneurship.
